Beware of Memory Foam Mattresses

They offgas some chemicals, including formaldehyde, which is used as an embalming fluid in funeral homes, that have me seriously concerned.  There is a strong smell that may give you a headache at the least, and possibly much more.  The only safe “foam” mattresses that I recommend are made from natural latex rubber (which comes from trees, by the way).
